Voltron version: Escape to Another Planet
Our heroes crash land on Altea (Arus), ending up somewhere in the desert. When they are attacked by the cave-dwelling natives, they amusingly theorize that the natives may be cannibals. With the Galrans on their tails, Kogane decides they should head toward the Castle they saw before.
The growling of the lion statue leads them to Castle Altea. The group agrees that, "even if the devil lives in the castle", they have to go in. Once inside and trapped there, Raible (Coran) appears. He tells them of the Kingdom of Altea and his hope that the five of them are its savior. When Princess Fala (Allura) appears, Raible introduces her to her "heroes" and fills the newcomers in on her story of narrow escape in Raible's care, at her father's request. King Raimon (Alfor), and the rest of her family, were killed in the fighting. Fala expresses a hatred for Daibazaal for taking them from her.
The group wants to help, but they need better weapons than the spears they grabbed from the natives. Raible then tells them of GoLion, and that its parts are there on Altea. GoLion is Altea's guardian deity; not even Daibazaal could destroy it and simply "gave up" trying. Raible believes that if the five men pilot GoLion, they can fight back and restore the kingdom to its prior glory.
They are taken to a modern-looking control center in the castle, where they are given uniforms and told where to locate each of the five parts of GoLion. The episode closes as the Galran forces close in...

Key Differences:
Unlike in Voltron, the team is at first unaware of what planet they had landed upon.
Major Cuts:
The part of Raible's flashback where Fala's parents are executed is cut, even though it doesn't really show too much gore.
Facts:
*Raible was once a military strategist
*According to Raible's tale, all Altean men were killed in Daibazaal's attack - save for a few elderly men - and few over all survivors.
*The team arrives at the Castle on Fala's 16th birthday; 15 years had passed since Daibazaal's devastating raid, meaning Fala was an infant when it occured.
