34. Underground Secret Operation
Voltron version: Lotor Traps Pidge
There is a great wind storm on Altea. Shorty, Hothead and Moody go to help evacuate the city. Shorty gets angry with a boy who gets smart with him regarding his rabbit business - Shorty takes offense to the senseless deaths of cute bunnies and the two come to blows. Shorty follows him into the woods, only to step into a trap. The boy, Mario, comes back and frees Shorty from the trap. Looking around, the two see several wild boars dead in similar traps and hide as Galrans approach.
Shorty tries to call back to the Castle but is cut off in his report when an earthquake happens. He then learns Mario has a sick mother, and that he'd been catching rabbits that damage their crops and then selling them for money to pay for her medicine. The boys investigate the fissures caused by the quake, and realize it wasn't an earthquake at all but something amiss below the earth.
Sincline, it turns out, is digging his way to Castle Gradam in the hopes of planting a huge bomb beneath it. He pretends not to care about Fala's fate in front of his father, but has a secret plan to abduct her before the explosion.
While the male teammates launch Lions to look for him, Shorty and Mario venture below ground and overhear Galrans talking about the attack on the Castle. They are captured by Sincline and strapped to the bomb. Sincline moves on to the second phase of his plan - to blitz the castle and grab Fala - while Red Lion finds the captives and frees them.
They stop the detinator, and then join the fray above by the castle. The drilling machine turns into a beastman of which GoLion disposes of easily enough.
Cuts:
Sincline's fantasy about the deaths of the GoLion team was cut.

The beastman's name is Delta.
