10. Secret of the White Lion
Voltron version: Secret of the White Lion
Honerva presents Daibazaal with a white lion that is sure to bring him the "heads of those on Altea", allowing him to drink their lifeblood from his chalice.
On Altea, Fala has an intense dream, one in which she sees her heroes - along with Raible and Hys - killed, and herself wounded at the hands of the Galrans. Her mother's ghost appears and Fala confesses her self-doubts, looking to the ghost for reassurance that she is strong enough to be a true hero and defeat Galra. The spirit never speaks.
After awakening, Fala runs outside to follow the lion that now calls to her. She believes this lion is the embodiment of her mother. The guards fail to stop her from going into the forest after the creature.
She follows the lion to a waterfall, hoping it will train he rto be a warrior. Meanwhile, Hys notices that Fala's gone. She and Raible wake the boys so that they will go find her.
Moody thinks it laughable, when he finds her, that the lion is her mother and is going to train her. He mocks her quite mercilessly. Drawn into the trap, the lion is able to eventually trap all the heroes save for Kogane. The lion is turned into Lian, a Beastman. With his captives tied up helplessly, he aims to lop their heads off.
Kogane prevents him from succeeding, just as the Blue Lion shows up piloted by Raible and Hys. The team is rescued, and after Fala struggles more with the lion's identity, GoLion is triumphant.
In the end, Fala explains why she thought the lion was her mother. Moody thought it naive, but Kogane agreed that she got some training from the experience. Hys insists she and Raible will pilot Blue Lion, but the heroes laugh at the notion. For her part, Fala realizes that she relies on other people too much and knows that even if she is alone, she must fight to the end.

Key Differences:
In the Voltron version, the White Lion represented her father's spirit. Here, it's supposed to be her mother.
