31. The Mecha Beast Fighter of Fear
Voltron version: The Sincerest Form of Flattery
Honerva is preparing her next Beastman in the lab, when a soldier informs her that the Prince and the King are quarreling again. Daibazaal is angry that Sincline is still hung up on Fala, and promises to whip his personality into shape. When Sincline challenges him, Daibazaal orders a beastman to beat the Prince to a pulp.
Sincline disposes of the beastmen easily, and boldly challenges his father to a duel. Defeated, Sincline accepts that he shall die at his father's hand until Honerva intervenes. She convinces Daibazaal to spare Sincline, noting that he is necessary in their fight against GoLion, and urges Sincline to apologize. Sincline grovels, begging his father to turn him into a Giant Beastman so that he may defeat GoLion. Satisfied that Sincline seems to know his place and his mission in life, Daibazaal spares him.
He wants Sincline turned into a giant beastman, but again Honerva objects. She explains she's created a Mechablack Beastman - one that has a special coating of alloy that will be strong enough to go against GoLion's sword.
Back on Altea, the team discusses the reconstruction and how all the attacks just keep setting back their efforts. Hothead wants to go on the offensive and attack Galra, but the others disagree. Shorty also teases the mice by tossing them a rock that they thought was cheese.
Fala and Raible reveal their plan to help them stem the damage of Galra's attacks. They've come up with the Altean Guard System, which is a sattelite set up higher in the atmosphere which will give more advanced warning than they have now.
No sooner are the satellites launched than they warn of Sincline's approach. They are promptly shot down by Sincline's ship, and the Lions lauch to defend the planet.
Once they decide to form GoLion, the Beastman tries to block its combining energy but fails. The two battle, Sincline eventually ordering the beast to concentrate its attack on the Blue Lion. The attacks are effective enough to send GoLion plumetting to Altea's surface. Once there, the Beast continues to attack the 'soft spots' of GoLion - in particular the joine of the right leg, as Honerva suggested.
GoLion stays together long enough to destroy the beastman. But soon after, Blue Lion falls off and crash lands. Sincline sees this as his chance to take out the weakened GoLion. The Lions are in a bad spot, and the Princess is injured. Luckily, the Castle defenses rally and drive off Sincline just in time, but Kogane knows that they are in a tight spot with their enemy's new strength.
