17. Orders For Asimov's Return
Voltron version: No, Who's On Second
Synopsis:
At the Galveston headquarters, a meeting is interrupted by the Security Cheif who reports that prisoner Lafitte demands to speak with Teles. Teles wants to ignore him and all discussion of the rebellion, and get back to talking about their survey mission. But then, a ship comes out of timewarp, and they see it is from their homeworld. They realize that someone must have notified them about Barataria's rebellion. Their visitor turns out to be Gigolone (Chancellor Mordok), who is with Galveston Security.
On the Rugger Guard, Dewa sends orders for Asimov to return to GG headquarters and be his assistant, relieving him of his charge of the Rugger Guard. Asimov reluctantly agrees. The Team leaders are then brought in and told of the transfer. They also learn Ise will take over Asimov's command, with the help of each of them on the bridge in shifts. A farewell party is planned for later.
Back at Galveston's front line base, Gigolone orders Teles to release all the rebellious prisoners, including Lafitte, and resinstate them. He rejects Teles's hope of working together with the Earth survey team to find a world. He also warns him never to tell the enemy that their own homeworld is in danger, and then gives Teles a report on the current state of that world. There's also a veiled threat against Teles's father, in case Teles thinks of doing things his own way after all. After he leaves, Teles tells Drake to continue being friendly with the Earth forces, and that Lafitte is to be released and put in charge planetary exploration.
Lafitte is released, and wants ideas on how to improve the performance of battle machine pilots. Drake and Gramont resist the focus on fighting, preferring to focus on the survey mission. But Lafitte is determined to get Earth out of their way.
When Drake goes to complain to Teles, he learns Teles has more important things on his mind - like the fact that their homeworld is deteriorating faster than they thought. Meanwhile, the Rugger Guard encounters the fleet of Captain Marius (Captain Gorvan) at the third planet of the fifteeth star system. Earth offers to do a joint survey of the planet. Teles allows it, but Lafitte launches his fleet and may end up getting in the way.

Facts:
Walter seems to have an affection for magic and possibly a brother named Jimmy. Jimmy Jack. LOL!
