3. Farewell, Achilles

Voltron version: Building A New World
Synopsis:
The crew of the Rugger Guard grow increasingly restless waiting for the Base Builders to arrive from Earth. Senseless fights erupt among the crew, while the Captains try to figure out why the aliens keep attacking them - looking for a reason that makes sense.
Meanwhile, Teles is determined to evict the newcomers from the planet one way or another. He is giving Rackal another chance, but he's also prepared to bombard the planet with photon missiles which would spell its doom along with anything and anyone still on it.
On the planet, the joy of the construction crew's arrival is tempered by a message from the enemy forces demanding the Teams evacuate the planet or there will be another attack. This is also the first time they reveal themselves as being from Planet Galveston (Planet Drule). Galaxy Garrison brass decide the Rugger Guard has time to try to make contact and talk with the enemy. They fear withdrawing will not only end their aspirations to advance through space, but perhaps the Galvestons will bring their fighting to Earth.
The Galveston's ignore any attempt at a dialogue, as Rackal is ordered to go in for an attack and the missiles are launched. With this action, the Rugger Captains realize that the Galvestons weren't battling over the planet, as their missiles threaten its existance, but rather aim to drive them from the galaxy.
Despite their best efforts to fend off the onslaught of missiles, enough reach the planet to devastate the base and crew. The Team's focus shifts to salvaging the planet. The Rugger Teams follow a fleet of Galveston fighters to the planet's surface, trying to save construction crew members that had survived the first onslaught of missiles. The fighting rages on, and the planet begins to die. Oddly, Rackal is clueless until it is too late, despite being the one who eluded to Teles that the missile attack would probably destroy the world.
The battle over, and the planet dying, the Team contemplate their own role in its demise. Ise decides to name the planet Achilles. With that, they are on to their next journey.
Cuts:
Shots of Teles in his office were cut, likely due to the nude art and sculpture around him.
The deaths of construction crew members on the planet were cut.
The death of Rackal is cut; or at least it is explained away in the dub.
Facts:
Apparently, while the characters drink alcohol, on the Rugger Guard there is a rule that all consumption has to be authorized. Aki seems to like to break this rule.
