30. Earth's State of Emergency
Voltron version: Raid on Galaxy Garrison
Synopsis:
The Garrison brass are going over the numbers from the last battle, analyzing the report from Date about how much of their support fleet was damaged - and if they have enough power to confront Galveston's front line base. In the meantime, Galveston Captain Ducasse's fleet nears Earth, ready to strike.
They're warned when the Galveston fleet reaches Mars. Galveston attacks, breaking through Earth's line of defense above the atmosphere. On the Rugger Guard, emotions are high with some wanting to head toward Earth to help. But Ise knows they won't get there in time, and Haruka points out to Aki that instead of feeling bitter, they should affirm their resolve to take out Galveston's front line base as it will help the security of Earth in the long run.
Earth manages to pull through with the help of backup from their allied planets, Sala and Mira, and Galveston is driven back. However, their Megalopolis took heavy damage. The Garrison brass hopes the government will realize now what a threat Galveston is and send appropriate back up to the exploration team in space when the time comes to make their move on Galveston's homeworld. As for the Rugger Teams, they dispatch and unite, ready to make their move toward Galveston's front line base while Luciano prepares for the confrontation.
Fact:
The little Earth boy with the plane's name is Akira, and he tells his mom he's going to be a Garrison pilot when he grows up. Maybe a nod to GoLion here, maybe not.
