Listen to Winning Days' Music

Warning: If you're reading WD and don't want to read potential spoilers, don't read on! Notes on the songs may contain spoilers.

Book I: Black Metallic, by Catherine Wheel

Notes: Found the edited version on YouTube, as the song normally clocks in off the album at over 7 minutes...but you get the gist here.
I chose this song because it seemed lyrically to fit Keira's perceptions of events in the first three parts, and the title referenced her people's seer's prophecy about VV. Over all, though, it's probably the loosest fit for a song fic attempt.

Book II: Born of Frustration, by James

Notes: I thought this song went well with the over all themes of the second "book" - the complicated conflict between the Drules and Alliance, as well as those factions' internal struggles. The Explorer spy's point of view was represented by the title, for his actions seemed 'born of frustration', as were Keira's to an extent.
I thought the part that talked of stopping the talk of blame went to the Drules in particular.

Book III: There's No Other Way, by Blur

Notes: Clearly, I was on a britpop kick when I wrote this fic or something. This song's lyrics kept reminding me of Hazar's predicament and how he was kind of a constant reminder to the Drule establishment of their deeper conscience. You know, he was taking all the fun out of their little games they play with Alliance, but he was also pretty powerless at this point to stop them - so all he could do was watch 'em play. Right?
On a complete side note, this is not the video I remember seeing on 120 Minutes back in the day. Strange. Song remains the same, so no matter.

Book IV: The Beaten Generation, by The The

Notes: Simply thought this one summed up the height of the conflict on both sides nicely. I really like this song anyway for the Drules, and also at one point made an AMV using it, too.

Epilogue: Winning Days, by The Vines

Notes: Over all theme to the fic, and it fit best at the end for at least the Drules' Winning Days seemed over - according to those that fell from power, anyway. The Alliance didn't exactly get off easy and without casualties either, so the general feel of this song seems to fit best here.
