Prologue: Love Is Stronger Than Death, by The The
Notes: Actually, I only used the first part of the lyrics for the prologue. The last part will be used for the final chapter, as that part will fit the events that have unfolded at that point and the *real* character death that occurs at one point. A beautiful song!
Chapter 2: Perfect, by The The
Notes: Only parts of this song really worked, and it's the biggest stretch of the lot so far. Orignally, I was going to set this fic completely to The The's music, but obviously went against that in the end.
Chapter 3: Uncertain Smile, The The
Notes: Finally found my favorite version of this song on youtube. It's actually one of my favorite songs ever - the piano solo at the end is just *chef's kiss*. Figured the lyrics fit Keith's thoughts on Allura and her "passing".
Chapter 4: : Sweet Bird of Truth, by The The
Notes: Final song in the run of The The songs featured, this one's lyrics fit the war that broke out well and including Bandor's untimely death. I liked the title too, as it alluded to Lotor's bird-like ship revealing a sort of truth about what really happened to Allura when it shot up the mausoleum and revealed her body is missing.
Chapter 5: Pale Shelter, Tears For Fears
Notes: This song was chosen as I thought it fit the tug of war between the wills of Allura and Lotor, as she struggles to survive and he struggles to make her truly his.
Chapter 6: Disappointed, Morrissey
Notes: Lotor is such a disappointment, isn't he? At least in some folks' eyes and at this point, he's pretty bummed his efforts to win over Allura aren't going so well. To him, I suppose, kidnapping and holding someone against their will is the definition of charm, eh?
Chapter 7: Live to Tell, Madonna
Notes: Keeping with the somewhat 80's music theme I have going, this song fit Romelle's struggle to survive and tell what she knows about Allura's whereabouts, as well as her shame for ever believing in/siding with a snake like Lotor. A man can tell a thousand lies, indeed.
Chapter 8: Rescue, Echo & the Bunnymen
Notes: Who needs rescuing here - Allura or Lotor? One thing is for sure - things are going wrong! At least they are from Lotor's point of view.
Chapter 8: Nothin's Comin', The Vines
Notes: I broke the 80s music mold here to include this song, because the whole tone fit so many aspects of the story at the time. Things are getting desperate!
Chapter 9: Is It Any Wonder?, Keane
Notes: Sven has no doubt been through much and he has some important decisions to make. This song sums up his struggles, I thought.
