The Alliance launches a capsule full of flowers and glitter (don't ask) to show the citizens of Drule they mean them no harm.

Main Featured Characters: Jeff, Cric, Cliff, Commander Hawkins, Captain Newley, Commander Hazar, Dorma, Baki, Viceroy Throk
Original U.S. Air Date: 02/13/1985*

Synopsis: The Alliance nears Planet Drule and encounter an asteroid belt surrounding it. Rather than risk the safety of the Voltron Force, Hawkins sends out a probe. Then he leaves the team leaders on the bridge of the Explorer while he attends a strategy meeting with Newley.
In the meeting, the Alliance brass present discuss the best way to handle approaching Drule as well as how to deal with a populace that may not be receptive of them despite the rescue nature of the visit.

Meanwhile, Throk and one of his captains decide that the Alliance is already too close for comfort and plot to beat them back. They start by blowing the probe to smithereens. This is soon followed up by a massive laser assault originating from a base in the asteroid belt. In additon, Throk has a new robeast that is certain to keep Voltron at bay given it has weapons he claims will melt Voltron's diodes.
As for the Drule Rebellion, their activities mainly consist of Dorma and others discussing if it's plausible to free Hazar from prison as they see him as a valuable asset if they wish to overthrow the war council. Baki assures Dorma he can pose as a cook at the prison and free him. He almost has his cover blown, but Baki manages to get in to see Hazar - posing as the cook - and is there long enough to let Hazar know he'll be back with a device that'll help the rebels spring him from prison.

The Explorer and her massive fleet do a decent job of fighting the Drules but when the Robeast is unleashed, Hawkins orders the teams to launch. The Robeast is indeed powerful and the asteroids put Voltron at further disadvantage. So Jeff's plan is to get out of the asteroids and fight in the open. A burst of electrothermal energy turns the tide of the fight and it's actually kind of unusual how much non-weapons fighting Voltron does here - he's all full of kicks, punches and karate chops for once! Of course, the blazing sword finishes the job.

Throk is really sweating it out while his captain suggests using Drule citizens as hostages to keep the Alliance at bay. But Throk is too busy being angered that the Alliance is busting through their defenses.

Meanwhile, Newley is concerned that the battle has drained the fleet too much to destroy the base in the asteroids like they wanted to originally. But Jeff has a plan! He asks Ginger to reprogram Voltron's laser systems for what could be called a super electrothermal blast. Voltron has to get dangerously near the base, but he manages and then unleashes what Ginger termed a "megavolt" - which blew the base to bits (and for once, no voice over disclaimer as to how the Drule captain escaped heh heh).

That action pretty much concluded the battle, clearing the way for the Alliance to enter Drule's atmosphere. But before they do, they have a moment of silence back on the Explorer and launch this weird looking "pill" into space which explodes in an array of pretty flowers and glitter above Drule. This action was supposedly to show the Drule citizens the Alliance comes in peace. I dub it "the Peace Pill"; for all your warring headaches :-p
