Synopsis: This episode opens on Drule, where Hazar's father, Mozak, laments to the council about the sorry state of their home planet. To which the others scoff, noting there must be somewhere else they can move to. However, it's quickly pointed out that both they and the Alliance have been searching for suitable worlds to inhabit and neither one has come up with anything viable...well, that they haven't destroyed anyway. The Emperor seems more concerned about the band of rebels who have been giving the Drule rulers quite a bit of grief.

Mozak defends the rebels after Throk tries to downplay the threat they represent. When Throk goes on to brag about how their latest weapon will destroy Voltron once and for all, Mozak isn't exactly impressed. To add insult to injury, as soon as Throk gets done declaring the rebels a bunch of weaklings, a soldier comes in to report that the rebels have just defeated one of their best batallions. Throk decides the only way this is possible is for them to have had help from the outside - like from the Alliance.

This victory came at a heavy price for the rebels, and Baki - the rebel's leader - and Dorma discuss it. Dorma decides that, because time is short, she must find an ally in the council so that they can get rid of the war-mongering generals all the sooner. With her political ties, it shoudl be easy. She decides that Mozak, also her father, will be their best hope.

Meanwhile, Captain Laro is about to unleash their latest secret weapon on the Voltron Force - magnamines. The teams, combined in their fighting units, approach the mine field with caution. Though they destroy a lot of them, their magnetic properties were an unexpected danger. One happens to attach itself to the wing of Ginger's ship, so the Air Team separates.

The mine plays psychological tricks on Ginger, who steadily begins to freak out (partly due to some trauma she witnessed as a child - an astro ship blowing up) as plans to get rid of the mine fail. The Drules hope that Ginger will panic and head back to the Explorer so that they can detonate it there. Meanwhile, Jeff sends the Land and Sea Units to the surface of a nearby planet where the Drules have a base, figuring that's where the mines originated from.

On the surface of the planet, Alpha 1, the Land Team discovers laser turrets that fire if tripped off...and Hutch decides to blast one setting them all off and giving away their position to the enemy. doh! Laro decides that for the "insult" of the Land Team daring to close in on their base, he'll detonate the mine on Ginger's ship. The blast takes off a chunk of wing and sends Ginger into a fiery tail spin. Though injured and scared, Ginger manages to change her crash course with the Explorer into a decent landing. Laro gloats that without Ginger's ship, there's no Voltron.

In the mean time, more mines are launched at the Land and Sea Teams (Hutch gets the moron award for this episode: "They found us!" Gee...ya think??). The teams have to retreat, their mission to destroy the base on Alpha 1 unsuccessful.
The Air Team is already with Ginger, however, who is rather injured. And when she wakes up, proves to be quite delerious - not recognizing her teammates and babbling about an exploding astro ship.

As the other teams retreat, Laro decides to launch a robeast in the hopes a decisive victory will kill the morale of the rebels back home. Speaking of planet Drule, Mozak is on his way to his office after the meeting, where he meets up with Dorma and Baki. At first, Mozak is angry she brought Baki as it puts him in an awkward position...but Dorma begs for reason.

Back at the Explorer, the Air Team is ordered to launch without Ginger. But, she snaps out of it long enough to recognize Jeff and asks to go. She doesn't want to watch helplessly as she did when the astro ship was destroyed so long ago. So the Air Team helps her to her ship.
However, she's so woozy from her ordeal she has trouble fighting and gets in trouble with the robeast fast. Despite her close call, Ginger sticks with it and Voltron is formed.

He quickly is covered by magnamines and still has the robeast to tend with. They get the robeast near the secret base and destroy it there, where it crashes into the base before Laro can detonate the mines attached to Voltron. The base destroyed, victory is theirs.
