40. Red Moon Rises Again

Synopsis: The Explorer crew comes upon a planet and discovers a young boy frolicking with a fawn. Wishing to know more about the people inhabiting the world, the Land Team pursues the child back to his village. After some coaxing, they find out these people migrated from the Planet of the Red Moon. Befriending the natives, Cinda runs off to play with the boy, fawn and a buck. Meanwhile, the Drules are planning to strike while the Explorer is docked for repairs. The Drules strike fast, and Cinda and the boy run for cover. A Robeast nearly kills the fawn when it appears, and after Cinda is picked up by the Land Team, Voltron is formed. It’s almost curtains for Voltron at one point, but the buck steps in leaping up and crashing through the window/eye of the beast. This buys Voltron enough time to regroup and mount a counterattack. The episode ends at the buck’s grave with the boy sobbing and the team leaders looking rather pensive. Yes, yes - this is the infamous "super deer" episode...I never said I was proud of it :-p
