Synopsis: The Drules have hatched a plan to trap all or part of the Voltron Force on a planet that seems to have a glow to its atmosphere. The Drules know a secret to this world that will strand anyone else who doesn’t. To set the plan in motion, they send out a fake distress signal, knowing that the Alliance will have to try to help due to their own rules – even if the signal is coming from enemy craft.

Jeff and the rest of his air team are the first to fly below the thick cloud cover and investigate. But when they do, their ships lose power and all communication with the Explorer is lost. The Drules are delighted knowing that, without Jeff’s team, Voltron is useless. Zabar is waiting on the surface of the planet (he knew where in the planet’s atmosphere to enter w/o his ships facing the same dilemma) to lay waste to Jeff’s helpless team.

In the meantime, the others are busy trying to analyze the planet to find out what happened to the air team and also to see if there’s way for them to help without becoming disabled themselves. Even though a separate Drule fleet is attacking the Explorer, Hawkins can’t wait any longer and orders the Explorer down to the planet’s surface. Once there, the other teams launch and distract a Robeast meant for the air team – this gives Jeff and his crew time to go back to the Explorer and re-fuel.

Once re-fueled, the plan is to form Voltron, but the Drules have plans to keep them separated. While Voltron is forming, the Robeast knocks out the ship that forms his right upper leg – which happens to be piloted by the Sea Team’s Lisa, and she is knocked out from the crash. Voltron, minus his right leg, does his best to fight on, while the other two units left over try to get Lisa to awaken. Eventually, she does and Voltron can finally become whole.

Voltron not only takes care of the Robeast, but also cuts a swath through Zabar’s command ship with the blazing sword, annihilating the vessel. Though a point is made to say that Zabar was captured by the enemy, I’d say he dies. Nerok is now put in charge.
