Hazar clutches a shattered framed photo of himself and friend Mongo, after getting some bad news.

Main Featured Characters: Jeff, Cric, Cliff, Commander Hawkins, Captain Mongo, Captain Nerok, Commander Hazar
Original U.S. Air Date: 12/20/1984*

Synopsis: With dreams of being regarded as the greatest Drule commander, Hazar orders Mongo to attack a support fleet that's on its way to lend the Explorer crew a hand. Hearing of the attack, the Voltron Team readies for action. Jeff wants to go help the support fleet, but Hawkins orders him to stay near the Explorer as they are the mother ship's only real defense if the Drule's happen to get past the support fleet.

A robeast is launched at the fleet, however, due to the fleet's tight formation it holds its own. Mongo is too proud to admit defeat to a supply convoy, so he presses on even though his own ship has taken damage. The commander of the support fleet decides to concentrate on the Drule command ship thinking if they destroy it, the entire enemy fleet will give up.

Mongo has some serious thoughts about all his years as a warrior, wondering if this is going to be his last stand. Despite his worries, Mongo presses on. The robeast destroyed, Mongo's ship is next. Though it is said Mongo gets to his escape pod and will put himself in exile out of shame, I would think Mongo really dies here given it cuts so quickly to Hazar dropping a photo of himself and Mongo and looking rather distressed. During this scene, a guard informs Hazar that he's to be court martialed for his latest failure. But instead of suffering that disgrace, Hazar flees. Keezor doesn't seem to care as long as Hazar is out of the way.

Meanwhile, the VV Teams are still on patrol when they get news from the support fleet that they're winning the battle. Hawkins then commands the VV team to join the support fleet at the nearby Drule outpost. Unfortunately, Nerok lies in wait for them. The air team decides if fighting begins, to stay in unit formation for more firepower even though they're not picking up Nerok's fleet just yet.

The silence is broken when the turrets on the base fire on the Voltron force. An extensive battle ensues until a robeast is launched. Almost immediately, it fires a missle that damages the air team's unit, spearing Chip's ship (which forms the upper arm of Voltron) - and right where their energy storage tank is located. Just when the Drule's think the Alliance is retreating, they form Voltron instead.
Voltron ends up destroying the robeast with its own missiles. Disgraced, Nerok must retreat.
