19. Great Stone Space Faces

Synopsis: The Alliance crew is on its way to explore Planet Nebb and there is concern about being so far into Drule territory. Nerok is in pursuit and Hazar is not pleased – they have standing orders to avoid the Alliance. Chancellor Mozak, Hazar’s father, discusses the need to avoid war in favor of finding a livable world for the Drules (see the video media files for a clip of this scene). He also warns his son against the idea of invading Earth – such an endeavor would be too costly to them.

Meanwhile, the VF are exploring Nebb, a planet whose continents seem to be sinking. They also marvel at great, Easter Island-like statues that dot the landscape and its bright red moon. They discover that the planet is unstable and may die, though it’s uncertain when. There are signs of a human civilization, but everyone seems to have vanished leaving nothing but ruins behind. Nerok decides that since the planet is useless, he’ll not confront them directly but send a Robeast to attack. The Robeast nearly smashes Lisa and Cric before Voltron saves the day.
