Original U.S. Air Date: 02/18/1985* Synopsis: Oddly enough, this episode starts off with Voltron back on Drule and Jeff pondering what Zeppo is doing now on the planet he fled to - so much for checking up on him, I guess! Hazar steps from the crowd and asks the Voltron Force for more help - Drule is about to explode and they need help evacuating. The Voltron Force leave their ships to talk to Hazar face to face. After Mozak explains to Jeff what is happening within planet Drule to cause it to self-destruct, he gives them the bad news that Drule is going to go within a matter of hours. Ginger escorts Mozak so he can ask the Alliance for help just as earthquakes start to rock the planet. Newley gives Mozak some bad news when they meet, explaining that most of their transport ships were destroyed in the last battle and that they have to wait for more to arrive. But in the meantime, they plan to load up as many citizens as possible starting with women and children. As people are evacuated, Newley has some good news for Mozak. It seems professor Page has located a livable planet for the Drules to settle on in the far universe. The evacuation goes smoothly aside from some of the men panicking over the women and children restriction. Even though the reinforcement fleet isn't there yet, the current ships are full and must blast off, leaving many Drules - mostly the men - behind. As the Explorer takes off, Jeff recalls the events of Episodes 11 (A Temporary Truce) and 39 (That's the Old Ball Game) to remind himself how tough the Drule people can be thereby convincing himself that they'll persevere. Commander Steele is finally able to break through all the magnetic interference to contact the Explorer to tell Hawkins his support fleet is on the way. To make it on time, Steele proposes doing something risky to speed their journey so that they make it in time. Apparently, it works because the Explorer's fleet passes the reinforcement fleet on their way out. It looks like everyone on Drule will be rescued in the nick of time. The planet explodes while they're flying away, and the episode ends with the Drules being dropped off on their new planet. Note: I've seen the episode of Dairugger XV that corresponds with this one, and realize that the extended flashback scene Jeff has is to make up for quite a scene in the original series where Hazar is attacked and murdered before everyone is evacuated. Pretty dramatic stuff that had to be sanitized for American audiences...so if you're wondering why that scene dragged on, it's because lots had to be cut from the original episode. comment system disabled temporarily thanks to spam happy assholes!
