Original U.S. Air Date: 02/15/1985*

Synopsis: After a brief recap of the last episode, this one picks up where it left off. Hazar apparently told them where to go to get to the underground capital city, and that's where Jeff and his team find themselves. Spotting the military base where they were supposed to meet Hazar, they move in only to be greeted by hostile fire.

Fortunately, the Land and Sea teams have met up with the Air team and they form Voltron. The robeast from the surface gets in one good hit, and just when Voltron thinks he has recovered, he's grabbed by a second robeast. Meanwhile, Newley's fleet is still waging war with the Drules above the planet's surface and manage to clear a path so they too can enter the tunnels. The reinforcements arrive just as Voltron is taking care of business with the robeasts.

Afterward, they concentrate their efforts on Drule military installations. Infuriated, Throk vows never to surrender, but the rebels are closing in on him while the Alliance forces creep ever-closer. The rebels manage to rescue Mozak, Hazar's father, who had been held prisoner, but the war council escapes. Mozak thinks they fled to the palace, so the fight moves there.

At Emporer Zeppo's palace, the remainder of the war council begs Zeppo to leave for the safety of planet Dema rather than face Hazar and the rebels. Zeppo resists, but Throk insists they can rebuild and conquer the galaxy from Dema which makes Zeppo take pause to consider. An escape pod is readied for the war council and Zeppo to escape, but the Emporer insists on speaking with Hazar before he goes. When Hazar arrives, he tries to strike a deal with him, vowing to never make war if Hazar allows him to escape.

Hazar lets him go, reasoning that he promised freedom for everyone (and later, Zeppo vows to make war - Hazar is duped again!). While the citizens celebrate their new found freedom in the streets, Dorma declares Hazar the new Emporer but he rejects the title in preference of elections where the people choose their leader. The war weary citizens then gather around Voltron waving white flags of surrender.
Meanwhile, Hawkins is suspicious of Zeppo's departing crew and sends the Voltron Force out to make sure he really leaves the galaxy, and that's where the episode ends.
