Synopsis: On Drule, the high command is spreading propaganda about the rebels by telling the people the "rumors" that Drule is going to blow up any moment is rubbish, meant to frighten them into joining the rebellion.
The Explorer is closing in on Drule, letting the leaders know they've come to help evacuate but will only take those who wish to leave. Throk responds, believing their true motive is to conquer the planet, by attacking.

As a battle rages, Professor Page calls Hawkins with some interesting discoveries about Drule. Apparently, in addition to the havoc wreaked by a transient sun, the Drules buried all their Lazon (the materials used to make robeasts and other implements of war) waste beneath the ground and that is what's going to cause the planet to blow.

Meanwhile, the rebels are doing all they can to help the Alliance fight the rogue Drule leaders. They're attacking units of the palace guard until the chain of command is in ruins in all the chaos. Dorma sees this as an opportunity to break her brother Hazar out of prison.

A rebel delivers Hazar's lunch and advises him to try the eggs "right away". When he opens the egg, it contains a radon device. Once they get a signal from Hazar with it, the rebels move in to bust him out. When Throk gets word of Hazar's latest escape, he isn't pleased to find out Dorma was among the rescuers and orders them both arrested.

In the sky, the Alliance is still engaged in heavy fire, especially after the Drules unleash their fierce "purple raider" ships. Hawkins worries that it's all taking too long and doesn't want the Voltron force to be on the planet when it blows. However, Jeff thinks if they form Voltron all will be well. Voltorn uses the ray beam whip to make short work of the purple raiders.

However, Throk unleashes the "super raiders" on them, to which Voltron counters with the blazing sword. Once on the surface, Throk orders Voltron to leave, appalled that he dare stand on the soil of the Drule empire. Jeff refuses, noting that they're there to help evacuate the planet while ignoring Throk's statement that the planet is perfectly safe. Undeterred, Throk sends out not one...not two, but THREE robeasts!

The fight is in no way fair, and Voltron takes a beating - so badly that Jeff is knocked out cold. With Jeff out and being outnumbered, all hope seems lost...until the earth opens up and swallows two of the robeasts. Unfortunately, it swallows Voltron as well though they do manage to grab hold of a ledge before Voltron falls into molten lava - but they can't fly out until Jeff wakes up. What's worse is the third Robeast is firing on them to insure that they do fall.

Fortunately, Jeff wakes up in time to fly to safety but they still have the robeast to contend with. To make matters worse, a wind storm kicks up making visibility down to zero. So the team does the only thing they can do - break up before the robeast blows them to bits. Soon afterward, the last robeast is swallowed by an earthquake as well.

Enraged that the Voltron Force was pressing on with their "invasion", Throk orders every bit of fire power thrown at them. With the Stratofighter Jeff manages to fight his way through the tanks and fighters to get inside an underground tunnel. In an interesting twist, that last robeast was not destroyed in the earth quake and unfortunately, Jeff's team is underground while the others are still on the surface...we know what that means!
