45. Coconuts

Synopsis: A transport ship that will take Hazar back to his home planet is arriving on Dreska. Dorma once again urges Hazar to go underground to lead a revolution but he'll have none of it, considering such an act "running". Borgam wastes no time sending Captain Zutka out to cause more trouble with the Alliance. They close in on planet Aloha, hoping to draw the Voltron Force out for battle.

Meanwhile, Cric and Cinda can't get coconuts off their minds (don't ask), and ask Hawkins if they can go back to Aloha to get some. Though Hawkins would rather wait for the Alliance crew that's on Aloha to bring them some in the next batch of supplies, Jeff gets antsy and decides to just "pop down there for some" anyway.

On Aloha, two Alliance guys - Herbie and Spike - are working on some sort of structure when they start goofing off. They end up grabbing some coconuts and sucking on the juice just as Jeff arrives. Jeff enlists their help in gathering coconuts, all the while unaware of the Drule's gathering threat. The Drules start trouble by blocking signals so the Alliance base - and Jeff - won't be able to radio for help.

To Zutka's credit, the attack he launches is massive and without mercy. Jeff makes it to his ship but soon finds he can't call the Explorer. Herbie and Spike have a close call before Jeff leaves to join the fighting. On the Explorer, the others are wondering what's taking Jeff so long.

Jeff makes enough of a pest of himself in battle that Zutka decides to unleash a super powerful robeast on him. He manages to escape the robeast long enough to locate and knock out the sensor that's blocking his radio signals. He calls the Explorer to let them know what's going on, then rushes to the aid of Herbie and Spike who are once again under attack.

Now with both of them wounded, Jeff gets out of his ship to assist them to a nearby cave. Like a moron, Herbie goes back out to get his friend a coconut as the battle still rages. Needless to say, Jeff is pretty freaked out. Herbie manages to get a coconut, but the Drules shoot him right out of the tree. Jeff has to risk his life to save the guy. When they're all back in the cave, Jeff cuts open the coconut so that the injured guys can slake their thirst.

Jeff sits in the cave feeling useless until the others arrive. Soon afterward, Voltorn is formed and reinforcements arrive. Not only does Voltron mop up the Robeast, but he also destroys Zutka's command ship with the Blazing Sword (Jeff clailms he escapes, but I bet in DXV it was another story!). They also claim all the crew on Aloha including Herbie and Spike made it through.

The episode ends with another recycled comedy scene with Jeff eating what Sammy described as "mashed coconuts with giblet gravy"....ew!
