Site History

Originally, the LV portion of the site started out as a tiny little smattering of facts and pics that lived as a sidenote in the early days of my Thundercats site. Back then, I hadn't seen much of LV since some reruns I caught on TV in the late 90s, and barely remembered VV at all, so there wasn't enough info to justify a stand-alone Voltron fan site from me.
Then on February 17th, 2004 I had gathered enough episodes online to spark the interest and the material to give the LV side it's own site. Around the same time, I'd finally gotten to see some of the VV series for the first time in 20 years so I also launched a VV page as well. At first, the two pages were seperate - one called The Denubian Spaceport (the LV site) and one called Try This World For Size (the VV site).
Eventually, I merged the two pages together to forge Voltron Central as I gathered more and more info and materials on both series, not to mention the animes they were based on. It may still not be the most fabulous source of Voltron stuff on the web, but it's been fun to build and it gives me a diversion from the Thundercats thing.
Below, you'll see screenshots of various incarnations the site has taken on over the years. I admit, I have to do some hunting on old discs to find the earliest ones, but the last few are present for now.

Notes: The meager beginnings, when it was still just a footnote on my fledgling Tcats site....this was just one of the pages. Didn't know much about Voltron or html back then, haha.
Grabbed this shot from The Way Back Machine by plugging in one of my old Tcats site urls. How nice of this site to preserve embarrassing footnotes in history for all to see ^_^

Notes: One of the early layouts when the independent sites launched - features included iframes and image mapping, my grand skills at the time.
The sites first were on sub-folders of my purrsiathunder.net domain, until they merged on a subdomain (voltron.purrsiathunder.net) there later.

Notes: I believe around this time is when I ditched the old iframes layout, and went to the horizontal dropdown menu for navigation. It's been the norm til I opened the site here at voltroncentral.net

Notes: Those of you who have seen my Tcats site revamp in recent months will think the new site looks mighty familiar! Using CSS and a handy script I found, users can now choose their own skin as they surf the site. The menu was reworked in a vertical fashion and located on the right, for ease of use.
I also moved it all to a new server with its own domain - voltroncentral.net! There are, between the two sides, several gigs of things to see and download, mostly thanks to a heaping helping of media files and images. Good thing I have a lot of space and bandwidth ;)
