Merla sits on Zarkon's throne plotting her next move on Arus. Haggar tries to sneak a mini-spider robeast in to attack Merla but her vulture pet comes to the rescue, giving Haggar a bitter taste of her own medicine. To keep Merla from putting her little robeast in the cosmotron - that contraption that makes stuff disappear - Haggar promises to help Merla defeat Voltron. Merla gives back the robeast but insults Haggar at the same time by calling her magic obsolete. Haggar has some harsh thoughts as a result, which Merla - given her powers - is quite aware. These two just don't get along. Merla, Haggar, and a fleet of female robots crash the Arusian's parade. The people panic, but Allura promises to guide them to safety at the castle. Before they can get there, Merla's ships keep them under heavy fire. Luckily, Lance, Hunk and Pidge made it out ahead of them and take their Lions out. The three Lions fight off the doom ships by themselves. While the people are lead to safety, Haggar unleashes a super-sized version of her spider robeast which shoots the three abandoned Lions right off a cliff. Hunk, Pidge, and Lance are then frozen by the robeasts' rays. Keith and Allura want to turn back and help but have to get the people safe, first. We also learn here that Nanny serves soup out of a common bucket. How regal. With the castle under heavy attack, Keith and Allura finally take off. The lions don't do so well and when they seem trapped, Merla starts to gloat. The space mice try to lead Coran to the three frozen boys, but Haggar has them frozen too before they can do anything. Then the robeast hits the castle and the other two lions hard with the solar ice, ready to freeze them as well. But Keith comes up with a plan, and it works to free them. The lions actually defeat Haggar's "indestructable" robeast with sound waves. doh! The action of the robeast being destroyed unfreezes everyone. Voltron is formed anyway to take care of the leftover tanks and attack ships. Merla is furious - at Haggar, not herself - as she faces defeat again. At the end, the castle is repaired and Alfor lets his daughter know from beyond the grave that he approves of her actions and of Keith. "You haven't been a girl in centuries. But who cares? As long as we are victorious." - Merla, to Haggar. Click here to read an archive of old comments. Text file will open in another window.
