Queen Merla

Rank & Such: She's ruler of her own home world (which went without a name), where apparently, only women are allowed. Metal bra grrrrl power!
Background: She came about in the second season, about mid-way through (Enter Merla: Queen of Darkness), as Zarkon has plans to see her wed to Lotor, thus joining their empires. Marriage to Lotor didn't last though...what a shock. Don't worry, Merla's not the type to wallow in heartbreak. She has awesome mind powers, too, causing her victims to hear her suggestions in their mind and so they feel compelled to bend to Merla's will. Her sidekick is her loyal pet vulture.
Basic Personality: Merla is a strong and powerful figure, and as such many of the Doomie mainstays don't like her that much. She's confident and pretty fearless, and finds Lotor most unimpressive. At the series end, she seems to have a change of heart and an attack of conscience, but many fans debate whether she really "turned good" or simply did what was in her best interests at the time, once again showing her self-serving side.
